Joshua Tree National Park - May 2024

This was another trip with Backcountry Journeys. Jon Resnick was our guide and he did an outstanding job.

It turns out that light pollution is a significant factor at Joshua Tree and we were plagued by a bright moon that set very late in the night giving us a narrow window to shoot Milky Way shots.

This album has only a few shots because our timing was tough and the window for our prime purpose (the Milky Way) was pretty narrow. As this album shows, I'm not a great landscape photographer so when the stars weren't available, I didn't find much to shoot.

In the end my favorite photo from this trip is the sunrise sun star through the Joshua Tree.

My favorite Sunstar of the trip. There was not much else to shoot at sunrise because there were ZERO clouds, so no colorful skies.
